Cabrera Lawn Bowling Club hosted the Los Amigos Drawn Triples Knockout Competition which is sponsored every year by Los Amigos Bar and Restaurant on Mojácar Playa.

The competition was played between the 6th and 8th December. As the name suggests you are not allowed to pick who you play with as the names are drawn so you could being playing with someone you are not used to playing with. That's the beauty of this competition.

There were 2 stand out teams in the competition who, as it happens, both reached the final and deservedly so. They were Tony Rowling, Penny Craig and Jean Ayres who met Brian Marsh, Bob Craig and Pat Marsh. Brian's team started off the better and 14-8 up after 12 ends. Tony's team, however, never gave up and there was some excellent bowling especially from Jean Ayres who had a wonderful competition. After 18 ends Brian's team won the final 18-13.

This is the second successive final that Brian and Pat have won, so obviously on great form. Thankfully no domestics as Bob and Penny Craig were in opposite teams. Well done to everyone concerned and many thanks to the spectators who came to watch a thrilling final.
