Evening Bowling Friday 9th May      7 pm for 7.30

You are invited to join us for an evening of informal bowling and 

socialising.

We will be trialing , an Australian short format game  of 2 sets of 5 ends each plus a deciding end if required

No dress code, flat shoes and aussie type sledging acceptable!

The bar will be open so why not come along and give it a try. Either to play or just to watch and  socialise, everybody welcome!

Jack Attack......Australia’s Bowling Phenomenon

The Basics

• Three players per team
• Team order can be interchangeable
• Each player plays three bowls per end
• Five ends completes a set
• Two sets completes a match
• A sudden-death tie-break will determine a winner, should sets be evenly split
• Players aim to deliver their bowl as close to the jack as possible
• The number of your team’s bowls closer to the jack than the nearest opposition bowl is the number of points you score
• The jack is placed wherever the winning team wants at the opposite end of the green
• Players to wait until all bowls are delivered before changing ends
• Each team gets to have one power-play end per set. A power-play is where points are worth double.
• Should the jack be knocked out of play, it will be re-placed back in a central position known as the ‘T’
• All over in less than 90 minutes

 

Similar to the way we play Cut Throat

• No setting the jack
• Can be played over 1 or 2 rinks as available
• No skips, all players are at the same end
• No dress code (except shoes)

Note: the bar will close around 11 as a concession to our neighbours

There is no need to register, just turn up by 7pm on the 9th
