Competition Update
9:10am 28th April 2026COMPETITION UPDATE APRIL 26
It is felt there is a requirement to change the internal competition structure and timetable for the remainder of this year to allow more members to experience competitive play.
- All Competitions will now be completed within one week. the only exception to this is the Drawn Pairs where Monday is not available due to Windsor Visit.
- All competitions will be held in the morning wherever possible
- All semi finals will be on Friday and all finals will be on Sunday
- All competitions will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday until the winter league starts and then Wednesday will be replaced by Tuesday or Thursday
- We will allow some flexibility up until the semi final. For example if you are drawn to play on a Monday and have a valid reason as to why you cannot play, you may ask your opponent/s if the match can be played on Tuesday during Rollup. Likewise Wednesday games could be played Thursday BUT semi final and Final will not be changed.
- The Drawn Hong Kong and the Drawn Pairs Competitions will both be drawn with handicaps in mind so as to equalise the teams as much as possible.
- The Summer Singles will now be a mixed event and not Ladies and Gents separate events
- The 2 wood Trips in November will now be a 3-2-1 Triples.
- The competition for members who have not yet won a singles competition will be renamed the “Arthur Lee”
Updated dates for the competitions remaining in 2026.
If numbers are such that only 3 days are required we will use Monday, Friday and Sunday.
